The chair led a discussion about us participating in the Claiborne County Fair during the week of August 26-31. Patty Russell of Speedwell has donated a handmade quilt for us to raffle during the week of the fair. In addition, we discussed and decided to do a 50/50 draw each night with donations made to the organization. It was first suggested that the raffle and the 50/50 draw be done with paper ballots in order to collect contact information. However, after a brief discussion, the consensus of the group was this could be an invasion of privacy so we decided to stick with the tickets that we normally use that will only require a name and phone number.
Next, the Chair led us in a discussion of participating in the Labor Day activities at Harrogate City Park. Carl Nichols explained that in order to participate in this event all potential vendors must attend an organizational meeting prior to the event. At that meeting, we must decide exactly what we are doing during this event. The chair led a discussion concerning the TriState Democrat rally that we would like to organize in the spring of 2020 at LMU Tex Turner Arena. At this point, we really cannot make any forward plans until we have received confirmation from LMU that we can use the arena and at what cost. Brad Davis is checking into this for us. Once we get that information we can decide if we wish to move forward with plans.
